Heating-induced backscatter echoes from Tromsų, 1 September, 1980

Echoes observed with the monostatic 15.6 MHz IRFU backscatter radar at Uppsala. The 100 W radar signals were scattered off pump-induced field-aligned irregularities above Tromsų, some 1200 km north of Uppsala, created by the interaction of the powerful O-mode HF wave and the overhead ionosphere.
